The renovation of the third floor is well underway. So far, the work has been concentrated on the roof and in the ceiling of the third floor.
We are building two new ADA-accessible gender-neutral bathrooms on the third floor, and on Friday, October 18th, 2019, that is going to cause some noise.
We will be core drilling between the floor of the 3rd floor and the ceiling of the 2nd floor to add new plumbing. This work will take place over part of the service desk and it will be noisy. Library services will still be available and we will free earplugs available for those who want them.

The land on which we gather is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.
The land acknowledgement used at UC Santa Cruz was developed in partnership with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band Chairman and the Amah Mutsun Relearning Program at the UCSC Arboretum.
