We work with UCSC Environmental Health and Safety to ensure the filaments we are using meet their recommendations for the DSI. For this reason, only library provided filaments are available for use in the DSI. Below are the safety data sheets for the filaments we currently have available. We will never allow the use of ABS filament in our space. If you're interested in the DSI obtaining additional filament types, please email us at digitalcommons@ucsc.edu. We are interested in hearing what you'd like to see in this space and are willing to review additional filament types. We cannot guarantee any specific timelines for review.
The land on which we gather is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.
The land acknowledgement used at UC Santa Cruz was developed in partnership with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band Chairman and the Amah Mutsun Relearning Program at the UCSC Arboretum.
