Scale Model Furniture
By: Sam M.
Project Status: In Progress
I used PLA. The materials met my needs
I used the Ultimaker 3D printer to print the furniture
I used TinkerCAD for modelling, IKEA (and other various websites) for gathering measurement info, and Cura for slicing and prep-work for printing
Part of the project is going to be functioning drawers, and if I have the time, I would
I think my project is of the most use for people trying to plan out the layout of a space.
I did end up having to iterate on the books on the shelf, mostly because of design issues or changes in purpose. I was trying to get the bookshelf to more closely resemble a real bookshelf
I am very happy with how the keyboard turned out, especially as the two color design was the result of an oversight on my part.
One of the things I've learned to do differently is to have drawers and cushions be smaller than the space they fit in.
The land on which we gather is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.
The land acknowledgement used at UC Santa Cruz was developed in partnership with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band Chairman and the Amah Mutsun Relearning Program at the UCSC Arboretum.
