Embark on a journey to four different areas of UCSC, where you’ll discover wooden puzzle pieces at each location. Find out what each space has to offer, from 3d printers and laser cutters to archival collections, and get all four puzzle pieces to complete your puzzle and earn bragging rights as a Puzzle Hunt Champion!

Location: Basement, Baskin Engineering
Slugworks is an open and inclusive, student-focused collaborative experiential learning space located in the basement of the Jack Baskin Engineering Building (Engineering 1) .
Slugworks is completely open-access and non-major specific. We offer countless opportunities to any student from any background, regardless of their level of technical experience. Our foundational ethos focuses on promoting inclusivity, accessibility and diversity in order to cultivate a creative, synergetic community fueled by imagination, inspiration and innovation.
Location: Lower Level, Science & Engineering Library
The Digital Scholarship Innovation Studio offers a variety of equipment and training to support your projects that bridge the digital and the physical using 3D data. We work to democratize access to technology not only by providing equipment, but by providing a supportive community to grow and learn through their Critical Making journey.
Location: Ground Floor, McHenry Library
The Commons offers a variety of spaces for study and digital creation as well as audio, video, and VR equipment for checkout. We focus on providing access to hardware, software, and opportunities for students to integrate digital tools into their learning.
Location: 3rd Floor, McHenry Library
UCSC Special Collections and Archives serves to support students' critical and creative research interests, to document the cultural heritage of the Santa Cruz region, and to maintain the historical record of UCSC. Everyone is welcome to research and explore the Library's distinctive primary sources, including original artworks, rare and antiquarian materials, and hundreds of archival collections across research areas and disciplines.
