(Greg Careaga, Laura Meriwether, Ken Lyons, Deborah Murphy, Frank Gravier)

In the summer of 2014, in support of UCSC Executive Vice Chancellor Alison Galloway's Envision initiative, University Librarian Elizabeth Cowell established the library's Undergraduate Experience Team (UET) to foster undergraduate support and success.

Areas of Focus

The team is charged to:

  • Provide information services and research assistance at the McHenry Reference Desk, by email, via QuestionPoint chat, and through the peer-to-peer student Roving Information Program
  • Assess library information services for undergraduates and explore approaches to meet newly discovered or underserved student needs.
  •  Assess and develop innovative library approaches to help undergraduate students develop their research and critical thinking skills.
  • Assess and report on the library needs of international, first-generation and undocumented students.
  • Build relationships in support of undergraduates with campus stakeholders such as the Writing Program, the Student Union Assembly, the Library Student Advisory Council, and the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Policy Studies.
