Roving Information Program

Fall 2019: Page a Roving Student at the McHenry Library Services Desk!

Look for the yellow vest!

Roving students walk throughout McHenry Library to help you wherever you happen to be.

We bring library help to you!

Providing point-of-need and peer-to-peer help for our users since 2011, our enthusiastic Roving students walk throughout the library building with walkie-talkies, and they are ready to provide help with:
  • Navigating the library building & booking group study rooms
  • Finding adjacent classrooms in Education, Math, or HVAC
  • Helping you find books in the stacks
  • Helping you use call numbers
  • Developing basic research strategies
  • Using Search to find books and journals
  • Using the library website effectively
  • Using UC-eLinks & placing Interlibrary Loan requests
  • Finding general campus information, and referring you to experts for more help.
