The resources you use will depend on which aspects of the case you are pursuing. You will NOT need to use all of the resources available here. Some sources will be more relevant than others.

Beware that web searches will bring up fee-based sites, so think carefully before clicking on something that seems to good to be true.


State Information


Archives may sometimes preserve records about death row inmates or appeals. 

  • Dates can be misleading in that records might cover more or less than listed dates
  • Records are usually NOT digitized. Requires in-person visit to the archive
  • Some personally identifiable information might be redacted from records
