Maps & Aerial Photos

Physical access to the aerial photo collection has been suspended through the end of 2022. Digital delivery of aerial photos is available for UCSC researchers only.  Please send us your email address if you'd like to be notified when the aerial photo collection is available online again.
UCSC faculty and students: The flight index database contains updated geo-rectified indexes of the aerial photo flights. Please use the request photos link in the database for high-resolution digital images or appointments for research assistance.

An aerial photo is any photograph taken from the air. Most aerial photographs in the UCSC collection are vertical images (straight down) and most flights include stereo pairs.

Search through our Flight Index Database to find Index Maps covering your geographic area of interest. Use the Index Maps to further identify particular photos to view online (if available) or by appointment in the library.
