Installed VR Apps

Want to use the VR headsets for a class?  We currently offer the following apps for you to use!  Contact us if there's something specific you want!  

Atlas Obscura ➚: Tour the Temples of Damanhur, the Salt Mines of Salina Turda, or the Winchester House.
Jurassic World ➚:  Meet an apatosaurs.
Looking Glass VR ➚: View 19th century sterescopic 3d images.
Meeting Rembrandt ➚: Visit Rembrandt's studio and glimpse his life.
The Body VR ➚: Take a tour through a human cell.
The Missed Space Flight ➚: Fly into space in the seat of a polish cosmonaut.
Within ➚: View one of many 360 documentaries.

Please note: We cannot guarantee the batteries for the controller or the Samsung phone will be charged when you check it out.  A charging cable is included in the kit. AAA batteries can be replaced by Media Desk staff if needed.

72 Hour Checkout Policy

This equipment is available to campus affiliates (students, staff, and faculty).  

Checkout Period:
72 hours

This equipment is renewable as long as there is no existing reservation.

The equipment is located at the Media Desk in the David Kirk Digital Scholarship Commons on the ground floor of McHenry Library.  

We cannot guarantee that any associated batteries will be charged.  Dead AA and AAA batteries can be replaced by staff at the Media Desk upon request.  

External Media:
Back up and delete your data from any removable SD cards prior to returning the equipment.  In the event that you don't save your data before the equipment is returned, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to recover it at a later date.

You can reserve any of our check-out-able hardware 2 weeks in advance by going to the Media Desk in the David Kirk Digital Scholarship Commons on the bottom floor of McHenry Library.
