  • Reserve DVDs and VHS tapes are available for checkout at the Media Desk in the Digital Scholarship Commons (ground floor of McHenry Library).
  • 1. Start on the library home page.
    2. Select the Reserves tab in the search box, and search by course code (e.g. FILM 165E) /name or instructor.
    3. Find the item you need and bring the call number (e.g. DVD 9539) to the media desk.
    4. Don't forget your student ID for checkout!.

  • Faculty, faculty proxies, and graduate students: 7-day loan for non-reserve Media items, may take media items out of the library.
  • Staff, undergraduate students, and community members: 4-hour loan for most items, may use equipment in viewing/listening rooms but may not take materials out of the DSC.
  • Staff and undergraduate students may check out items from the Media Circulating Collection for 7 days.

  • The DSC has 7 viewing rooms, 6 listening rooms, 1 group study room, 1 accessible technology room. All rooms are are equipped with technology and media resources.
  • For room specifications and to reserve online, please refer to the Study Rooms page.

  • Fines accrue on hourly items such as reserves and equipment. Checkout receipts are emailed with due date and time.
  • If you think that a fine was added to your account by mistake, please submit a billing appeal form.
