Cruzcat Migration FAQ

Will I be able to pick up a UCSC item that is on hold?

Yes. Please bring a copy of the on-hold email you received from the library along with your UCSC and photo IDs.

Will I be able to place a hold on a UCSC book?

Not through the Cruzcat or Melvyl online catalogs during the migration. But you can ask staff at either Library Services Desk, McHenry Library or the Science & Engineering Library, to place holds on material you could not find on the shelf or in the sorting areas that may be already checked out. The holds will not be placed by staff until after the migration.

Will I be able to place a search on a UCSC book that I can’t find?

If you can’t find a book on the shelf at McHenry Library, check the sorting areas on the 3rd and 4th floors, as it may be on a sorting cart (in call number order) or inside the room on the shelves. If you can’t find a book on the shelf at the Science & Engineering Library, check the reshelving area on the Main Floor (near the restrooms). If you still cannot locate the book, come to the Library Services Desk at either library and we will help you.
